New England Convenience Store Association History History

NECSA, the New England Convenience Store Association, was formed in 1982 as convenience store owners and operators across New England realized the need for unity in a highly competitive and ever-changing marketplace. Until NECSA's formation, the convenience store industry, particularly mom and pop operations, did not have a voice in many of the state legislatures in New England. In coming together as a regional association, members found they could learn from events occurring in other states. Legislative protection was the top priority of the association when it was formed and this continues to be true today.

Besides legislative protection, NECSA also conducts an annual trade show, publishes a newsletter and membership directory, conducts education programs, and offers membership benefits such as insurance programs, a coupon redemption program and a credit card program.
