About NECSA
The New England Convenience Store Association represents and promotes the interests of the convenience store industry by enhancing the image and profitability of its members by providing:
- a comprehensive and proactive membership network that participates in, monitors and promotes legislative and regulatory issues that impact our business on the local, state and federal levels;
- an information and communication network on essential issues, concerns and opportunities relevant to the industry;
- a partnership and network of vendors and retailers;
- membership services and benefits;
- training and education programs; and
- a financially strong association with a broad-based membership.
History
NECSA, the New England Convenience Store Association, was formed in 1982 as convenience store owners and operators across New England realized the need for unity in a highly competitive and ever-changing marketplace. Until NECSA's formation, the convenience store industry, particularly mom and pop operations, did not have a voice in many of the state legislatures in New England. In coming together as a regional association with local state chapters, members found they could learn from events occurring in other states. Legislative protection was the top priority of the association when it was formed and this continues to be true today.
In addition to legislative protection, NECSA also conducts an annual spring trade show and store operator awards reception, hosts an annual golf tournament, publishes an E-newsletter and membership directory, conducts share groups and a fall networking event, and offers membership benefits such as discounts for online training, a coupon redemption program and a credit card processing program.
